She has a passion for committee and teamwork, carefully considers all aspects of an issue and promotes problem solving that strives to meet the diversity of community needs. Elaine is well-informed and caring, and dynamism personified. In my experience she has integrity in decision making, and the openness to consider opinions from all points of the political compass. She will be a true guardian for Anmore, both its people and environment.

Any community would be enriched to have Elaine Willis working for it. She has an extraordinary ability to analyze issues from many perspectives and develop a well thought out plan of action. I have known Elaine for almost 15 years both in a professional capacity as her physiotherapist and subsequently on a personal level as a friend. With her background in teaching, she has been a strong advocate for my son gaining special assistance in school. She has a unique understanding for the vulnerable in society and works hard to ensure access and fairness for all. Elaine exudes many qualities I admire- compassion, generosity, patience and an intellectual thirst for knowledge. I am proud to call her my friend.

Elaine is like a “walking Rolodex” of information!  And she willingly
shares it with anyone who needs assistance.  If you need a referral to
a resource, whether for help with medical issues, or to find a great
plumber, or something in between, she is the “go-to” girl.  For me, she
provided invaluable advice on maneuvering through the health care
system when a family member was hospitalized.  I am always amazed at
how she has managed to overcome the adversities that have been thrown
in her path and still stay cheerful and well-grounded, a loving and
caring friend.

Elaine Willis is a proven steward and champion of the environment. She
is woman who is driven to make the community around us a better place
to live. By having to battle her own personal health struggles she
has shown courage, strength, and a commitment to preserving the Anmore
vision. As a teacher, business professional and mother Ms. Willis
understands the many perspectives that contribute to this community.
Ms. Willis not only connects to Anmore’s past but has creative and
practical solutions that will help the village maintain its unique
identity as the community around us changes.

In addition, Elaine has been a great mentor and counsel for me
personally, not only does she have a wealth of knowledge and
experience that she willing to share but a caring heart for those she
sees that need it.

Hurrah, young lady,
In Anmore, we need a council comprised of honest,hard-working, intelligent, people like you who will respect the wishes of the majority and will avoid the self-interest of a selected few, especially when it hurts our community or its residents, human and otherwise. You are a courageous teacher who has overcome enormous physical barriers to champion a number of social and environmental causes through your voluntary contributions. Your leadership roles in a number of venues have not gone unnoticed. You can count on my vote. Good luck.

As the past president of the BC Ataxia Society, I worked with Elaine Willis when she was vice-president and advocate. She helped some of our members receive support and devices including home support and wheelchairs. This improved their quality of life vastly.

Elaine, my roommate and Mom… I’m improved some way because you help me every day whenever you can. I sincerely thank you. There are no words to describe how much I thank you. I can’t believe that I live happily in Canada. I’m happy with my decision to live here. You’re the best Canadian and woman I’ve ever met. You’re my family now. Thank you.

I have known Elaine for several years through her work as a fellow director at Mossom Creek Hatchery and I am proud to call her a personal friend as well. Elaine’s knowledge and interest in a wide scope of environmental issues make her a valuable asset to any organization.  Her compassion, focus and energy in the face of adversity complement her as a strong leader in the twenty-first century. I believe she will bring positive, logical, intelligent and progressive change to the community of Anmore.

I have known Elaine Willis for over 20 years, and had the pleasure of
working closely with her on multiple occasions during that time. It takes
patience and dedication to serve on volunteer committees, and Elaine has
given freely of both of these gifts to a number of causes. In her capacity
as editor of the magazine of a non-profit herpetological society, she was
eloquent, driven and immensely creative. The society's soaring success at
that time was due in large part to Elaine's focus, leadership skills and
unique ability to make people around her want to participate. Ms. Willis is
an asset to any organization that is fortunate enough to have her on board,
and she has the track record to prove it.

I would characterise Elaine Willis as a kindred spirit and a well of information. Her gentle, yet firm approach wins hearts all over and gets results. To her, there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. Her personal journey makes her an ideal candidate to understand just how economy, environment and social issues entwine. Nothing exists in isolation.

Elaine is very astute and comprehends political, diplomatic and community issues better than most. As it is, Elaine serves on numerous committees, making her extremely well integrated in her community. Elaine’s goal is to simply leave this place a better one and she would be an invaluable asset on the city council.

Elaine and I have known each other for many years, but years are not the only measure of a friendship. Friendship happens when two (or more) people go through the good, the bad, and the ugly together, emerging stronger for the experience. We’ve done that, and will continue to for as long as we are both alive. I can’t imagine a situation where Elaine wouldn’t watch my back, and have my best interests at heart, and Elaine knows she can expect the same from me. This is how I’ve come to know her, by her compassion, and the passion she puts into everything she does. Elaine’s life is life full of drive, knowledge, wit and caring. My life is richer because she is part of it, and Anmore will be richer as well. She’ll be great on Council. She has my vote if she want’s to run the world!

At this time, my familiarity with Elaine is constrained and it seems that whatever I know and therefore could honestly say has already been said. I see little wisdom in repeating so I would just humbly concur and congratulate the authors of these testimonials for their wisdom and the attempt that put in to care and share. Cheers everyone.
